Helen McAlpin Armstrong, age 87
August 27, 1917
August 7, 2005

Mrs. Armstrong, lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away Sunday night at her Midlothian residence. She was born in Midlothian, TX. to Hugh Alexander and Fanny (Stansberry) McAlpin. She graduated from Midlothian High School in 1933. She married Joseph Clayton Armstrong December 8, 1940 in Fairview. Mrs. Armstrong was a mother, housewife, rancher and a member of the Sardis Methodist Church. She was also a "Pink Nurse" at Baylor Hospital.

She is survived by: sons, Steve Armstrong and his wife, Donna of Arlington, Bill Armstrong and his wife, Melissa of Waxahachie, Joe Armstrong of Midlothian; grandchildren, Greg and Kelly Armstrong of Waxahachie, Traci and Stephen Markert of Rogers, AR., Neal and Janet Armstrong of Waxahachie, Aaron Armstrong and Stefani Armstrong both of Arlington; great grandchildren, Bailey Armstrong, Collin Armstrong, Lauren Markert, Jacob Markert, Cody Armstrong, Madison Armstrong and Austin Baggett; brothers, Gene McAlpin and wife Doris, Jack McAlpin and wife Bonnie, all of Midlothian; sister, Merle Browning of Waxahachie; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, August 10, 2005 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend R. E. Corder and Reverend Marvin Mott officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Sardis United Methodist Church.
