Hattie Jo Maxwell December 20, 1923 August 10, 2011 Hattie Jo Maxwell, 87, of Waxahachie passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Central Methodist Hospital of Dallas. She was born to the late Arthur B and Allie Mae Hunt on December 20th, 1923 in Waxahachie, TX. Hattie has devoted her life to her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, her church, and her family. Her gift of love was felt by so many and she will truly be missed by all. Hattie worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for forty years, retiring in 1982. After retirement she enjoyed helping raise her great-grandchildren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for eighty years as a member of the Fidelis Class. She served fifty-five years as a Rebekah, and many years as a Pink Lady for Baylor Hospital. In addition, she served with the VFW Ladies Auxillary for many years. She is survived by daughter, Paula Justice and her husband Jimmy Justice of Waxahachie, Granddaughter Kristy Allred- Pennock and husband Bob Pennock of Waxahachie, Grandson John Rodgers and wife Lauri Rodgers of Waxahachie, Grandson Mick Justice of Waxahachie; Her great-grandchildren Hollie Allred, Hayden Allred, Abigail Rodgers, and Anna Rodgers, all of Waxahachie, and special niece, Sharon Lewis of Las Vegas, and her husband Jerry Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Maxwell of Waxahachie, married sixty-three years. Brothers Cecil Hunt, Gene Hunt, sisters Dorothy Davis, Willie Bell Hunt, and Ida Margaret Hunt, and nephew Jimbo Davis. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie with Rev. Bruce Zimmerman officiating. A private family interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Waxahachie. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
