Harvey Ray Davis- July 29, 1943 to Dec 1, 2011 Harvey "Ray" Davis, 68 of Houston , Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec 1, 2011 in Houston after a short battle with cancer. He was born July 29, 1943 to Ethel Mae (Cook) Davis and James Harvey Davis in Corsicana , Texas . He attended schools in Waxahachie and graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1961. He also attended Navarro College and North Texas University before joining the Armed Forces in 1965 He served 4 years in the Army and spent 3 of those years in the Army Security Agency. He was stationed in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1969. Ray lived and worked for the US Postal Services for 38 years in Houston , until his death. Ray was a devout Christian and loved the Lord very much. He was an amazing man and never met a stranger. He was a loving and caring person and had a beautiful spirit. He was an accomplished artist. His hobbies were archery, reading, and spending time with friends and his dog, Lucky. He was preceded in death by his a twin sister, Faye, who died shortly after birth, his parents, brother-in-law, Arvin Lee Fisher and nephew, Kerry Lee Fisher. He is survived by one brother, Neal Davis, and wife Dorothy of Waxahachie and one sister, Genelle Fisher of Palmer, Texas . He is also survived by 2 nephews, Rusty Davis and wife, Beth of Waxahachie, and Kevin Keith Fisher of Palmer. Two nieces, Kimberly Perez and husband Geronimo of Palmer, and Natalie Wright and husband David of Waxahachie. He is also survived by great nephews, Jason Perez and wife Ericka, , Jaxon Davis, Gramm Davis, Davis Wright and two great nieces, Courtney Vela and husband, Aarron and Reese Wright. Also, he is survived by great, great nieces and nephews, Jodhan Perez, Eyan Perez, Zeplin Perez, Orianna Vela, Audrey Vela, and Rylan Vela. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Palmer Cemetery . Local Arrangements Wayne Boze Funeral Home Waxahachie.
