Harold Pace Brown, 89, passed away Friday, December 19, 2008, in Waxahachie, Texas.
One of seven brothers, Harold was born in Meridian, Mississippi on September 30, 1919. He was a proud and brave American, having fought in France to defend our freedom during World War II. Among other medals, Harold received the Purple Heart, Campaign Medal with Three Bronze Service Stars and the World War II Victory Medal before being honorably discharged from the US Army on November 22, 1945.

"Papa" as he was affectionately known, will be remembered by family, friends and everyone who knew him as a kind and caring gentleman. His passion for life, family and to be in grace with God, comfort us all as he joins the Lord for all eternity.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Brown of Waxahachie; son, Don and wife Rose of Tyler; daughter Vicki Bateson and husband Ron of Mansfield; son, Ron Pyle and wife Donna of Farmers Branch; daughter Vicki Gore of Waxahachie and Eric Gore of Gun Barrel City; daughter Dietra Box and husband Ken of Waxahachie; eight grandsons, one granddaughter, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.

Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, December 21, 2008 from 4 to 6 P.M. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Graveside burial services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 9:00 A.M. at DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, Waxahachie.
