GLORIA JEAN WALTON OTTO Gloria Jean Walton Otto (affectionately known as Mom, Mother, G-ma, and Aunt Jeaner) passed away January 23rd 2023 with her husband and children by her side, at the age of 81.
Gloria was born on April 30th, 1941, the youngest of 11 children, to Pleasant and Altie Walton in Boyce, Texas. She often spoke with a sense of pride and fondness of her childhood, which influenced her tenacious nature and love for family.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Otto (Pop), her two children, son Darrell McBride and wife Darlene, daughter Darla Morgan and husband Brian and stepson James Otto. G-ma leaves behind seven grandchildren- Derek McBride, Levi McBride and wife Maggie, Dustin Otto, Blake Chambers and wife Brianna, and Hunter Morgan, as well as two great grandsons Harley and Maverick McBride.
Her favorite hobbies included fishing, camping and playing games on the computer. She also enjoyed watching her favorite shows and movies with Pop. Many nights accompanied with her ice cream wrapped in a kitchen towel. Her fondest memories were walking the trails with Pop and sitting in their yard watching the squirrels, birds and their chickens.
Gloria’s devotion and love for her family were immeasurable. It was evident at every family gathering they held in their home, within every conversation or message sent and was on full display at the annual Walton Family Reunion.
Her love, affection, generosity, compassion and friendship amplify the grief the family feels, but they find comfort in the peace she has now found.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Pleasant and Altie, four brothers, Ted, Ernest, Phillip, Carl, and her six sisters Helen Walton, Billie Meazell, Doris Tennery, Mary Lou Miller, Eddie Jones, Joyce Grimes, and grandson Justin Otto.
