Mr. Johnston passed away Wednesday evening, November 05, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Alvarado, TX. to Fred and Tula (Jones) Johnston.
He graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1947 and attended UTA one year. He and Willie Coulson were married October 8, 1949 in Waxahachie. He entered the US Army in 1953, serving in the Korean Conflict, being honorably discharged in 1955. Mr. Johnston was a farmer/rancher, a trucker for Quality Service in Midlothian and a part time employee for CNB in Waxahachie. He was a member of the Ferris Avenue Baptist Church for 53 years where he served in numerous positions and was past president of the Ellis County Farm Bureau. His hobbies were reading and camping.

Mr. Johnston is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Willie Johnson; two sons and their wives, Randy and Annita Johnson and Ricky and Rhonda Johnson, all of Waxahachie; four grandchildren, Amy Johnston, Derek Johnston, Luke Johnston and Jake Johnston; and a lot of loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Saturday, November 8, 2003 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Waxahachie City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Robinson, Jeff Moses, Steve Moses, David Goodwin, Steven Chambers and Marvin Sims.
