Glendia Ann Haggard, 69 of Midlothian passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in a Dallas hospital. She was born to the late Robert Carl Wood and Mamie Lee Humphrey on July 28, 1938.
Glendia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to work in her yard and her greenhouse. She enjoyed singing, and spending time with her family around the dinner table. Everyone loved to come to Glendia's home where they always felt welcome. She loved to entertain guest and host parties often. Glendia was very faithful to her family and to her church. She was always concerned about the future and needs of her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by so many who loved her and knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Gwen Thornton of Bedford, and Rondia Mack and her husband, Gerald of Midlothian; her sisters, Robbie Lee Nix of Sulphur Springs, Dorothy Lene Howell of Arlington, Edith Marie Tedder and her husband, Jack of Greenville; her brothers, James Donald Wood and his wife, Elizabeth of Quitman, Richard Stanley Wood and his wife, Ruby of Gladewater, and Melvin Douglas of McKinney; her grandchildren, Kym Thomas and husband, Shawn of Waxahachie, Kelli Mack of Midlothian, Michelle Newton and husband, Randy of Hurst, and Magen Thornton of Bedford; 4 great-grandchildren, Jared, Parker, Gaige, and Demi Thomas.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Ronny Crane officiating. Interment will follow at the King Cemetery near Seven Points, Texas.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
