Geraldine Hanks

Pat Hanks was born August 23, 1928 in Dallas, Texas to Gerald Johnson and Maurice Merrell. She was raised in Oklahoma and came to Dallas where she graduated from Sunset High School. After high school, she married Roy Hanks and became a Navy wife. She had three children, Roy Lee, Troy and Virginia. As a Navy wife, she lived in Rhode Island, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, California and Texas. Spent many years as a hairdresser and raising her three children. As a believer in Christ, she worshiped at First Baptist Red Oak, where she was a member for over 20 years.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Roy and her son Roy Lee. She is survived by son Troy and wife Sharon, daughter Virginia Lee and son in law Gary Lee, grandchildren Gary Lee Jr. and Melissa Titus and husband Chris Titus.

The family wants to give a special thanks to Cheryl Dorough, her caregiver for the past 5 years. We rejoice that she is well and at home with her Heavenly Father.


In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church Red Oak Honduras Missions.

Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Red Oak Cemetery with Rev. Jared Douglas officiating.
