George Roger Strength, age 53

Mr. Strength passed away Thursday in Dallas. He was born in Bryan, TX. to Sidney and Elizabeth (Mann) Strength. George graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan. He then joined the USAF in 1969, serving in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1973. He attended Texas State Technical College, The University of Texas, the University of Maryland, and Austin Community College in Austin. When in the Air Force George was in Radio Communications and as a civilian, he continued as an electrical engineer in telecommunications. He was currently employed with NRTC of Herndon, VA. George's hobbies were his granddaughters, motorcycles, electronics, and hunting and fishing. He was a member of the National Radio Communication Society and a proud member of the GOP. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
George is survived by: his wife, Carol Holton Strength of Waxahachie; daughter, Shelley Strength Cox and her husband Walter of Bryan-College Station; two sons, Brian Strength and his wife Tracy of Arlington, and Jason Kleypas and his wife April of Austin; brother, Sydney Quinten Strength and his wife Paula of Austin; two granddaughters, Hannah Marie Strength and Sophie McGee Cox; nephew, Paul Strength; niece, Leslie Strength Thompson and husband Chris, her children Rebecca and Tyler; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Saturday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Sunday, September 26, 2004 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Dick Bass officiating. Pallbearers will be Paul Strength, Rick Strength, Randy Strength, Walter Cox, Dennis Chipman and Jim Dombrouski. Interment will follow in Milford Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
