George Sill Jr.

July 22, 1972 — April 29, 2022

Waxahachie

George Douglas Sill, Jr., 49, was born July 22, 1972, in Dallas to Doug and Becky (Snow) Sill.  His early years were spent in Lake Whitney, TX.

They moved to Waxahachie, TX when he was 10 years old and built a house there.  George graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1990 where he was active in rodeo competitions, because his mom thought football was too violent.  He graduated from Hill College on a rodeo scholarship and earned his Associate degree in Biology.  Later he attended Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in Rangeland Ecology & Management.  This is where he met his best friend and brother, Wes Marmaduke.

In 1998 George married his first wife, Melissa (Patteson) Sill.  They lived in Waxahachie, Lewisville, and McKinney before settling in Fort Worth with their two children Tre and Madelynn.

George spent most of his adult life working in the construction industry.  He partnered with Wes to create a successful construction company.

George was an active outdoors man.  He loved hunting, camping, BBQ, and anything having to do with Texas.  But mostly he loved to help people and to make others happy.

In September of 2021, he was hit by a truck while he was outside of his own vehicle.  His accident may have damaged his body, but it did not defeat his spirit.  George used the time he was given to make peace with his children after several years apart.

George passed away Friday, April 29 at his childhood home in Waxahachie.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Douglas Sill, Sr. and his mother, Rebecca Ann (Snow) Sill.  He is survived by his two children George Douglas Sill, III (Tre) and Madelynn Renee Sill, the mother of his children, Melissa Sill, his brother in spirit, Wesley Marmaduke and Wes’ wife Crystal Marmaduke, his half-sister, Lisa (Sill) Kuhlman, her daughter, Brittany, and his beloved canine companion, Sable.
