George J. Walker passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Select Specialty Hospital in DeSoto, Texas. He was born in St. Martinsville, LA to Arthur and Hazel (Boshart) Walker. Mr. Walker served in the US Army. He was married to Mary Rosa Cabrera and was a diesel specialist for Mack Trucks. He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in Lancaster, TX.

His survivors include: his wife, Mary (Rosie) Walker of Red Oak; sons, Joseph Walker and his wife Angie of Mesquite, and John Walker and his wife Teresa of Red Oak; daughter, Yvonne Walker-Blackburn of Red Oak; daughters in law, Laura Jane Walker-Bernard of Garland, Elaine Walker-Garza of Ennis, and Lori Walton-Walker of Red Oak; grandchildren, Scott, James and Dana, Kimberley and Matthew, Jason, John Michael, John, Jr., Brenda, Joshua, Jenny, Cathy, Jacob and Jacks Marie; great grandchildren, James III, Jackie, and Jordan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, J. B. "Goner" Walker in 1995 and J.M. "Mackey" Walker in 2003.

A Rosary will be said at 7 PM Wednesday at the Red Oak Boze Family Chapel with Deacon Hector Pena officiating. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 PM Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Lancaster, TX, with Father Arthur D. Mallison Celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Ennis. Pallbearers will be Daniel Lopez, Matthew Martin, John Russell Walker, James Matthew Walker II, Serafin Tinajero, and Joseph Charles Walker.
