George Hentschel

George Hentschel, 66, of Waxahachie, passed away on June 30th, 2016. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 at the Waxahachie Bible Church. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, July 5th, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home located in Waxahachie.

George was born on April 18th, 1950, in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Charles W. and Lillian June Hentschel. He grew up in Edison, New Jersey and went to Houston Baptist College in Houston, Texas. George's father introduced him to his wife, Joey, upon returning from military service. They were married June 5th, 1976 and later settled in Waxahachie in 1986 with their two boys, Justin and Jason. They've been members of the Waxahachie Bible Church to the present day.

George's business degree landed him several jobs related to finances and accounting until he and his brother, Bob, bought Quality Pool Service, a pool cleaning, remodeling and repair business which they've co-owned for the past 26 years. One of the greatest joys of his life was sharing his talents and resources with others. George also loved spending time with his boys and their families. Vacations in Colorado, often with them, were treasured by George. Fishing with his boys was always a highlight.

In August, 2015, George was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Even in the face of terminal cancer, his faith in God's promises proved strong. In this, as in so many other ways, he demonstrated his courage and faithfulness not only to his family and friends but also to the Lord.

George is survived by his wife, Joanna (Joey) Hentschel and their two boys, Justin and his wife, Stefanie, and Jason and his wife, Sara. He also has four grandchildren: Dominic, Teirra, Isabel and Emma. He has two brothers, Bob and his wife, Jeanne, and John and his wife, Carol, along with several nieces and nephews.
