George Ray Duncan, 74, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. He was born July 13,1947 in Dallas, Texas and was the second son of Edward Elmer Jr. & Audrey P. Duncan.
George graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas. He proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. By trade as a master carpenter, George began his career with Allen-Dodd and Associates Incorporated, fire restoration specialist, and remained a dedicated employee until its dissolution in 1989. Anyone who knew him was aware he could fix or build anything therefore, he was quickly recruited to join Lone Star consolidated Foods as their Maintenance Manager. After 25 years, in 2015, George retired from Lone Star.
George was blessed to have met and married Carolyn Harper Grant in 2015. He loved spending time with his family and would do anything for them. Given the option of any activity outside of work, he would always choose fishing. His mother, Audrey, said he had a rod & reel in his hand from the time he could walk. Fishing is a Duncan Family tradition that he shared with his children. George also enjoyed hunting, camping, riding his Harley Davidson and attending the Texas State Fair as many times as possible each year.
George is survived by his wife, Carolyn Duncan, of Frost, Texas. His children Marla (Tim) Laudan, James (April) Drennan, Tracy (Billy) Floyd, Jeff (Jessica) Duncan, Daniel (Alysha) Tadlock, Brandi (Greg) Samples, Rachel (Dennis) Smith and Vaughn Grant. His Grandchildren Amber, Josh, Jeremy, James Jr., Justice, Clay, Joshua, Taylor, Gabby, Raelyn, Christian, Michael, Rylei, Alyssa, Bradley, Brittney, Jordyn, Jaydin, Sierra and Jordan.
