George Thermon Booher, age 88
September 7, 1917
May 3, 2006

George Thermon Booher went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2006, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Grandview, Tx. To George Carr and Sarah (Berrty) Booher. He enlisted in the Coast Guard during World War II and was selected to study electronics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During his service with the Coast Guard in the Aleutian Islands, Mr. Booher served in the OSS. After his discharge from the service, Mr. Booher worked for Titche-Geottinger's and Joske's department stores for 30 years. Thermon Booher always enjoyed working with his ham radio, talking with people all over the world. He loved fishing and being with his family and friends.

His survivors include: his wife of 68 years, Lillian Martine Booher; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Walter L. McNutt; grandchildren, Kelley Huebner and husband, Jeffrey; Scott McCown and wife, Heather; great grandchildren, Lillian Huebner and Kate McCown; brother, Weldon M. "BUB" Booher and his wife, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Evah Booher and Delma Booher; brother-in-law, Paul Wiggins; and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Carr and Sarah Berry Booher; brothers, Clifton Booher, Elmer Booher, Raymond Booher, Doug Booher; and sister, Evelyn (Sis) Wiggins.

The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Booher's long-time friend and care giver, Charles Nations, and the Family First Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family will receive friends and relatives 7-9 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be at 2 PM Saturday, May 6, 2006 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Zimmerman officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott McCown, Jack O. Norman, Jeffrey Huebner, Charles Nations, George Ray Booher, Milton Booher and Walter L. McNutt. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Burial Park, Waxahachie.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
