Geneta Mae "Jean" Mauldin, 95, passed away on January 22, 2017 in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Farley Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie. Interment will directly follow funeral services at Sardis Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be observed from 6-8 PM at Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Thursday, January 26, 2017.
Jean was born on June 25, 1921 and was the only daughter of Walter and Mary Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Mauldin; daughter, Diane Mauldin Fitch; parents; and brothers, Herman and J.W.
She was a long time member of Farley Street Baptist Church where she served in many capacities and spent much time. She worked for Haggars during World War II and later for Jans Dresses and the Bandman. She loved to sew, cook and garden and was known for her chocolate. She volunteered in various roles for the Baylor Auxiliary Pink Ladies organization where she made many friends.
Jean is survived by her only granddaughter, Meredith Fitch, whom she was so very proud of. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces, Don Williams and his wife, Ann, who did so much to make her life easier and happier, Patricia Ann Mc Auley, Sue Fesmire, Haskell Mauldin and his wife, Ann, Paula Booth and her husband, Ronnie, Bobby Dean Taylor and his wife, Sherry, Sharon Mauldin, Judy Linville and her husband, Larry, and numerous great nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Farley Street Baptist Church or the Baylor Auxiliary Pink Ladies.
