Genaro R. Duron (Jerry), age 82 of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, March 14th, 2022, at Ennis Care Center. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 3rd, 1939, to Antonio Duron and Ramona Ruiz. He didn’t graduate high school but was a wiz at his “jack-of-all-trades” being in construction and a carpenter. He could take any small project and build it up. Jerry managed many construction jobs here in Waxahachie and left his marks some were in many buildings; Safe Way (Foodland), Buick Dealership (Ford), Super Collider and many other buildings/homes here in Waxahachie. He loved building things; that was his joy! He loved to joke with everyone, and his favorite saying was “you owe me five dollars”. Genaro was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2015. He did try to hide it, but it began to progress more and more each year. This disease has finally taken Jerry from us, but he is now at his paradise home. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Guadalupe E. Duron, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
