Gary Rogers Wallace, age 68
August 17, 1935
September 30, 2003

Mr. Wallace passed away Tuesday evening in Baylor Medical Center Dallas. He was born in Moody, TX. to Luther and Vada (Robinett) Wallace. Gary served in the US Army 1954-1956. He was a banker/loan officer until his retirement in March 2002.

He worked for a finance company from 1961 until 1977, then was a loan officer with a series of banks. Three of them were in the same spot-just name changes. His nameplate has been at Ellis National Bank, First National Bank, Allied Bank, First Interstate of Texas. Wells Fargo, South Trust and Heritage. Gary was very active in the community. A few of his past and present community related offices include past President of the Indian Booster Club for two terms, past President of the Waxahachie Optimist Club, Officer and Director of the Waxahachie Youth Baseball Association, Waxahachie Pee-Wee Football Coach, Waxahachie Pee-Wee Basketball Coach, Director of Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce for 6 years and Chamber Chiefs. He enjoyed all sports that his children or grandchildren were involved in. He really loved Waxahachie High School Football games.

He is survived by: his wife, Udene Wallace; mother-in-law, Thelma "Nana" Kincannon;
two sons, Steve Wallace and his wife Johnna, Lance Wallace and his wife Kelli all of Waxahachie; one brother, James Wallace of Houston, TX.; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Cory, Chase and Reagan Wallace all of Waxahachie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Jeffrey Hugh Wallace in 1998, his parents, six brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends and relatives 4-7 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Saturday, October 4, 2003 at the First Baptist Church, Waxahachie, with Dr. Leroy Fenton and Pastor Bruce Zimmerman officiating. Pallbearers will be Royce Gothard, Charlie Bailey, Dale Watson, Dino Martin, Harold "Bud" Jones, Gerald Reed, Jeff Frazier and Larry Burns. Interment will follow in Waxahachie City Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Steve Wallace, 3305 Sanger Creek Way in Waxahachie.
