Gary Miles Loucks, age 65
January 11, 1944
August 25, 2009

Gary Miles Loucks, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, past away August 25, 2009, at the age of 65, unresponsive to hospital treatment following a single car accident near the home in Waxahachie, Texas. Gary was a retired engineering magnet school librarian with the Kansas City, Missouri School District, with assignments that included Model Cities and Title I programs, and the Lincoln Academy. He was a graduate of East High, UMKC, Central MO State University, and completed course work toward his doctorate at the University of Missouri - Columbia. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa. In retirement years he was a volunteer for several community causes and events. Love for learning was a constant in his life, along with an attitudinal mantra of never-give-up-on-your-education that he helped to instill in others. He studied history and civilization, educational theory, genealogy, formal coursework in network engineering, and recently took correspondence classes in physics and the quantum theory. He was an avid supporter of the sciences and humanities, the arts, meals-on-wheels, and local charities.



He was the son of Frederick Marion Loucks and Doris Mae (White) Loucks and brother of Frederick Marion Loucks, Jr. who are all deceased. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Camilla Lynn (Klement) Loucks, and daughter, Jeannette Monique Loucks, his son in law, Kendall Lee Drew, grandsons Hamilton Miles Drew and Allister Jo Lynn Drew, and had the fortune of grandchildren, by his daughter's marriage, Christopher Ross Drew, Lindsay Danielle Drew, and Kendall Lee Drew II; his brothers-in-law Russell Elliott and Randall Edson Klement and their wives Kay and Nancy; his sisters-in-law Cynthia Ruth Milliron and Janna Lee Cornett and their husbands Ron and Jimmy, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and their extended families.



The celebration of his life will be at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home at 1826 W. Hwy 287 Business, Waxahachie, Texas, 75165, 972 923 2700, with visitation at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Meals-On-Wheels, 503 Ferris Avenue, Waxahachie, Tx. 75165 or the Lancaster Outreach Center at 123 Alexander St., Lancaster, Tx. 75146.
