Gary Blackburn

Gary "Corn Cob" Blackburn, 59, passed away on May 29, 2015 in Missouri. He was born on May 14, 1956 to Olney and Maudine Blackburn in Houston, Texas. Gary was a loving husband for 30 years and father to his three kids, and "Pawpaw" to his grandkids. He was loved by many and was a sweet and kind man. He had always been a hard working truck driver.... He spent many years doing missionary work overseas that he enjoyed and loved traveling the world. Gary also had a love and appreciation for all of the military, fire, and police. He enjoyed watching tv and movies and could recite many, many lines from them. He always enjoyed telling his version of "The Three Bears and the motorcycle" story to the kids and grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Blackburn of Bardwell; children, Kelli Blackburn of Ennis, Donnie Miller of Fort Worth , and Justin Miller and his wife, Tasha, of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Jacob, Caitlynn, Megan, MaKayla, Matthew, Hunter, Lainey, Adalynn, Desirae, and Chasslynn; and sister, Karla and Husband Walter Lancaster of Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Wendell Blackburn. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W.
