Mrs. Kirksey passed away at her Midlothian residence Monday night. She was born in Crockett, TX. to Lee and Lucille (Lane) Ridenour. She married Charles Ernest Kirksey on October 17, 1963 in Ardmore, OK. Mrs. Kirksey was a nurse for over forty years. She was a Registered Nurse at Methodist Medical Center of Dallas. She graduated from Texas Women's University in 1962. She was recognized as one of Texas' top 100 nurses for 1999 and was a member of the Eastern Star. She had resided in Midlothian since 1972; moving from Dallas.

Mrs. Kirksey is survived by: two sons and their wives, Scott A. and Jana Kirksey of Tyler and Michael C. and Jody Kirksey of Midlothian; one brother, Daryl Ridenour of Ft. Worth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Albert W. and Mary Kirksey of Mesquite, Janis and Doug Walker of Greenfield, OK. and Sue and Lee Brown of Cordell, OK.; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Melanie, Emma and Ryan Kirksey; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Saturday, May 17, 2003 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Mary Stewart Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Midlothian Cemetery.
