Born May 6, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York to Frederick William Kern III and Jimmie Chestine Loughlin Kern. He moved to Wylie, Texas in 1973. He went to Wylie High School where he graduated in 1976. He began working for Tom Thumb Supermarket in 1979, where he has remained employed since. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Frederick William Kern JR., Marie Anna Kern, Chester Loughlin, and Elsie Loughlin. He is survived by his Best Friend, confidant and longterm girlfriend Manda Prachyl of Midlothian, TX; son, Justin William Kern of Waxahachie, TX; daughter, LeShawn Griffin Smith of Madison, Mississippi; sister, Elizabeth Taylor and her husband, Roy of Nevada, TX; nieces, Brenda Gothard and her husband, Jimmy of Wagner, TX, and Kirby Taylor of Nevada, TX; nephew, Preston Taylor of Nevada, TX; great nieces, Jaici Gothard, Ryan Minissale of Wagner, TX, and Hazel Taylor of Nevada, TX; great nephew, Carmine Minissale of Wagner, TX; best friends, David and Marcia Hatfield; and numerous golf buddies and co-workers which loved him like a brother. Services to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday and will last until time of service.
