Fred Consalus passed away peacefully at home March 14, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. Fred attended St. Henry’s Preparatory Seminary during his high school years, served in the Army in the mid-60s, and since moving from the Chicago area to Waxahachie, Texas about 44 years ago, has been a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He loved to fish and play golf and was a wonderful basketball player in his youth. Fred enjoyed being around his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events whenever he was able. He was a wonderful father, always giving great advice when needed. Fred had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Fred is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean; his son Christopher Consalus & wife Shannon; his daughters Lisa Consalus Vail and husband Brandon; Cindy Consalus Forsythe & husband Jason. He has seven grandchildren: Brandon Consalus, Kaylee Consalus Kepler (husband Matthew), Corrigan Consalus, Legend Vail, Elle Forsythe, Ian Forsythe, and Isla Forsythe. He is also survived by his sister Madge Consalus Meyer of Venice, Florida, and brother Patrick Consalus (wife Lynn) of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, and many nieces, and nephews.
Our entire family thanks those who cared for Fred while at Baylor Scott & White, as well as at home, including especially his long-time physician Dr. Yolanda Brady, Dr Ammar Haque, Bristol Hospice nurses and staff Stephanie, Jennifer, and Loran. We are forever grateful.
