Frank Wright

September 1, 1936 — February 11, 2015

Charles Francis "Frank" Wright III was born September 1, 1936 in Welch, West Virginia. He grew up in Princeton , WV , where he played sports throughout high school, including baseball, football, and tennis (for which he received a college scholarship). He graduated from Concord University and served in the Navy until 1960. He began his work career at Burlington Industries in North Carolina as an accountant. Later, he moved back to West Virginia , where he worked for the Davis-Stuart Children's Home, a place he always remembered fondly. The Children's Home administrator saw great potential in Frank and encouraged him to pursue a degree in social work. He earned a Master's degree in Social Work from Indiana University , and in 1971 he moved to Texas to become the Director of the Presbyterian Children's Home in Itasca . Eventually, he went to work for the State of Texas , and retired from service in 1998. Frank was an avid golfer who was able to spend countless hours pursuing his favorite hobby at Waxahachie Country Club. He also served two terms as Board President at the club. Prior to his illness, he was an active volunteer with First United Methodist Church and a member of the Builders' Sunday School Class. Little known to most people, he was a big fan of musicals and could sing show tunes from almost any era! He loved spending time on his back porch, enjoying nature, the occasional cigar, and his little dog Winston. Frank is survived by his wife, Margie, and children, Andrea Havens and husband Steve, Cary Wright and wife Misti, Stacia Wright, and Jason Crouch and wife Pam, and ten grandchildren: Chase Wright, Lauren Wright, Kenneth Royal II, Alexis Wright, Brandon Crouch, Aleah Crouch, Reanna Carter, Meagan Carter, Abby Crouch, and Jenny Crouch. A memorial service to celebrate his life is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Chaplain Jerry Carter officiating. Donations can be made to the Suicide and Crisis Center where Margie serves as Executive Director, 2808 Swiss Dallas 75204. www.sccenter.org www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
