Frank Muirhead

FRANK RAY MUIRHEAD 8/28/1924 - 7/10/2010 Frank Muirhead, a long time resident of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away on July10, 2010 peacefully at his home surrounded by family, friends and his favorite four legged critter, "Finley". Frank was born August 28, 1924. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Arvy Dell Sibley Muirhead and Daughter, Phyllis Muirhead. He is survived by his daughter, Rae Dell Shelton and her husband Ralph of Arlington, granddaughter Leanne Wilde and her husband, Justin, and two great Grandsons, Gavin, 3 and Graham, 2 of Atlanta, Georgia; step granddaughters Heather Bethea of Dallas and Wendy Walsh of Austin and and two sisters Georgia Borden and Pauline Taylor of Waxahachie as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was a proud veteran who served in World War Two. Upon returning home from the war, he opened Frank's Drive-In Grocery. He later purchased 300 acres and fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a Cattle Rancher. He was an expert Marksman, Hunter and avid Gun and Coin Collector. The opening day of "Dove Season" in September at the Ranch was a special occasion for Family, Physicians and many friends each year for many years. He is a Mason and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #90 and a recipient of the Golden Trowel Award for exceptional service. After retiring from the ranch and moving to town, his most recent years were spent with special friend, Ludean Green, and many wonderful friends enjoying playing forty two, attending country music reviews, the Senior Citizen dances and occasional trips to the Casinos in Oklahoma. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff of Texas Cardiology Consultants and Baylor Hospital for their service and caring through the years and the Lighted Pathways Hospice personnel most recently. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital or the Charity of your choice. There will be a visitation Tuesday evening, July 13th, 6:00 to 8:00 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 West Highway 287 Business (972 923-2700) and a Memorial "Celebration of Life" Wednesday, July 14 at 11:00 AM, at Farley Street Baptist Church, 1116 Brown Street, Waxahachie, Texas. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
