Frances Laverne Davis Brown, 88 of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in Waxahachie. She was born to the late John and Nora Cunningham Davis on December 9, 1920.
Frances retired from Krogers and then worked for Minyards for ten years in Waxahachie. She also worked part time for the Waxahachie ISD. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. She will be missed by those who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith Wickliffe Borders and her husband, Tom of Richardson, Linda Wickliffe Wheatley and her husband, Pat of Waxahachie; her brother, Delton Davis and his wife, Doris of Lancaster; her sister, Dolly Miller and her husband, Ralph of Lancaster; her 4 grandchildren, Sloane Bush, Wendy Shinpaugh, Anissa Scarborough, Brent Wheatley; 7 great grandchildren, Avery and Blake Bush, Macey and Maddie Shinpaugh, Francesca Scarborough, and Berkeley and Bowen Wheatley.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chester Brown; and by 3 brothers and a sister.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Hillcrest Cemetery with Bro. Richard Smith officiating.
Visitation will be held for family and friends at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19th at Wayne Boze Funeral Home and will last until service time.
The family request that memorials be made to The Farley Street Baptist Church Building Fund , 1116 Brown Street, Waxahachie, Texas 75165 or a charity of one's choice.
The family would also like to give sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff of Pleasant Manor, Lighted Pathways Hospice and to Baylor Medical Center Hospital of Waxahachie for all of your kindness and care you have all shown our family.
