Forrest Kelsey

April 28, 1930 — April 15, 2012

Forrest Bradley Kelsey was born in Burke, Texas to Willie Mae (Whatley) Kelsey and Golman Harris Kelsey on April 28, 1930. He lived in Rankin and Brady before moving to Waxahachie in 1945. He graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1948. In 1950, he joined the United States Air Force. He received honorable discharge as S- Sgt. 7th Bomb Wing in 1954.He was employed by Cookbook Bread, General Motors, and U. S. Postal Service. He retired from the U. S. Post Office in 1986. He married his high school sweetheart Patricia (Parks) Kelsey on May 8, 1951. To this union three children were born- Cynthia Ann, Gerald Neal, and Tricia Jean. He was so very proud of his children. He was preceded in death by grandparents, parents, a brother, a sister, a grandson, and a nephew. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, daughter Cynthia Ann (Steve) Winker; son Gerald Neal (Vicki) Kelsey, daughter Tricia Jean (J.D.) Peyrot, 6 grandchildren; John (Lesley) Winker, Mark (Jordon) Winker, Michael Kelsey, Katy Kelsey, Kelsey Peyrot, and Preston Peyrot, and great grandson- Marshall Winker. He was so proud to be Big Daddy, Paw Paw, and Deda. Also, surviving are 2 sisters- Wanda (Gene) Hobson and Anna Lou (Troy) Stovall along with several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Billy Ray Hancock, life- long friend and Ralph White, Air Force buddy and friend for over 50 years will provide comforting words at the graveside service. Pall Bearers will be John Winker, Mark Winker, Michael Kelsey, Preston Peyrot, Steve Winker and J. D. Peyrot. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Guardian Healthcare. Special thanks to Wendy, Michelle, Erica, Jason, Sheryl and T. Steadman. They would also like to thank Lighted Pathways with special recognition to Patty, Susan, and Jerry. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lighted Pathways or Guardian Healthcare.
