Evelyn Lucille Hocutt, 82 of Waxahachie , Texas passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 In Italy , Texas . She was born on July 10, 1930 in Italy , Texas to Marion Frances & Rachel O. Spann Phillips. She attended schools in Derrs Chapel and Italy . She married Melvin E. Hocutt on August 16, 1953 in Waxahachie. She was a longtime member of the Water Street Baptist Church in Waxahachie. She worked for Haggar Slacks as a seamstress for 23 years and sold Home Interiors Gifts for over 10 years. Evelyn loved collecting jewelry, cooking and collecting glass ware and enjoyed sewing. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her and loved her. She is survived by 1 son: David & Molly Hocutt of Emhouse , Texas ; 1 Daughter: Tricia Casey of Waxahachie , Texas . 3 Sisters: Nina Moore of Red Oak, Texas ; Evie Allen of Ennis, Texas and Joyce Stewart of Waxahachie, Texas . 2 Brothers: M. F. Phillips, Jr. of Grand Prarie, Texas and Royce Phillips of Nash, Texas . 4 Grandchildren: Ashlee Hocutt of Emhouse , Texas and Brooke & Preston Middleton of Waxahachie , Texas ; Joshua & Kaitlyn Hocutt of Gibson City , Illinois and Jerod Casey and Fiance Becca DeMoss of Waxahachie , Texas . 5 Great Grandchildren: Madi, Casey, Mason, Brison and Ellie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Melvin Hocutt, 1 Brother: Jessie Phillips and 1 Sister: Margaret Jenkins. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. James Southard and Rev. Dale Wilbanks officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery . Visitation with the family is scheduled for Monday, January 28, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
