Evelia Pena

Evelia R. Pena, age 74, of Italy Texas, passed away Monday June 7, 2021. She was born in Rio Grande Texas on August 25, 1946, to Timoteo & Esther Riojas. Evelia graduated from Italy High School and received her Associates Degree from Hill Junior College. Evelia worked at Elk Corporation before retiring to take care of her father. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Waxahachie and had a passion for God and her family.

Evelia is preceded in  death by her parents Timoteo & Esther Riojas, brother Jessie Riojas, and sister Enedelia Jacinto. She is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Jo and Armando York, and Laurie Pena both from Italy Texas, and Vickie and James Kendrick from Waxahachie Texas. One Brother Ernie and Marie Riojas of Italy, and one sister Erma and Juan Martinez of Marlin Texas. Grandchildren, Ashley and Narciso II Hernandez of Waxahachie Texas, Cody Kendrick of Waxahachie Texas, Jaymie Kendrick of San Marcos Texas, and Andrew Barron of Millington Tennessee. Great grandchildren Macayla York and Blaire Hernandez of Waxahachie Texas. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Visitation will be June 14, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 with a Rosary from 7:00 to 8:00. Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Waxahachie Texas at 10:00 a.m. June 15, 2021.

Family will be gathering at 108 South Harold Street in Italy after the burial. All friends and family are welcome to gather with the family.
