Eva Corene Strength, age 84

July 23, 2005

Eva Corene Graves Strength, lifetime Ellis County resident, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2005. She was one of thirteen children born to James Carroll and Hattie Woodard Graves. Corene was born October 2, 1920 in Italy, TX. She married Fanoy Strength August 19, 1937 in Milford. She was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Forreston Baptist Church.
She was employed with the Forreston School for twenty years. She loved every one of those kids while employed there. Corene and Fanoy loved basketball and followed the Forreston teams everywhere. She was devoted to her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nothing gave her greater pleasure than being around them and her friends.
Corene was a very special lady, always quietly encouraging her children to love the Lord. She will surely be missed.
She is survived by: sons, James Strength and wife Linda, Darrell Strength and wife Carolyn, all of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Kevin Strength and wife Dr. Jean Strength of Waxahachie, Phillip Strength and wife Michelle of Frisco, Tina Strength Cobb and husband Christopher of Waxahachie, Michael Strength and wife Jessica of Arlington, Amy Strength of Waxahachie; great grandchildren, Chelsea Strength of Bel Air, MD., Jordan Ratzman, Samantha Strength, Gunther Strength, Taylor Strength, Bailey Strength, Chance Strength and Caleb Strength; nieces and nephews, Peggy and Rusty Hightower, John and Linda Mason, Carolyn Gist and numerous other nieces and nephews; brother, Edgar Graves of Ft. Worth; sister, Dena Kester of New Braunfels. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of sixty-six years, Fanoy, who passed away October 29, 2003; six brothers; four sisters and nephew Jimmy Mason.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, July, 27, 2005 at the Heritage Baptist Church, 1000 FM Rd. 387, Waxahachie, TX. with Reverend J. D. Courtney and Reverend Tim Gibson officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Strength, Phillip Strength, Michael Strength, Rusty Hightower, John Mason and Gregg Mason.
Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church Building Fund.
