Eva Lou Overdirth, age 72

Mrs. Overdirth passed away Thursday evening at the Earnestyne Brackin Renfro Hospice Unit. She was born in Sardis to James Perry and Nanny Irene (Adams) Proffitt, one of ten children. Eva Lou attended Waxahachie schools. She married Tony Overdirth December 22, 1950 in Waxahachie. She sewed for the public, was employed with Haggar Slacks, Bandman, and was Cafeteria Lady for the Waxahachie Independent School District. She was a member of the Baylor Medical Center Auxiliary, Eastern Star and the Farley Street Baptist Church.

Her survivors include her husband, Tony Overdirth of Waxahachie; sons, Tony R. Overdirth, Jr. and wife Cyndie of Grapevine, James Perry Overdirth and wife Linda of Waxahachie; daughter, Belinda Elms and husband Mark of Pampa, TX.; sisters, Doris Roe, Lillian Neal, Katie Overdirth Stanton, Virginia Cleveland and husband Glen, all of Waxahachie; sisters-in-law, Mary Proffitt of Midlothian and Christine Autrey of Waxahachie; ten grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Scott Overdirth; daughter, Scarlet Larue Overdirth;
brothers, Richard Proffitt, Willie Doyle Proffitt and J.P. Proffitt; two sisters, Ollie Faye Mathis and Ruby Lee Nelson.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Saturday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Sunday, December 4, 2005 at the Farley Street Baptist Church with Brother David Gradburg officiating. Pallbearers will be Josh Overdirth, Jeremy Woodard, Dale Tanem, Mark Nelson, Jim Proffitt, and Reuben White. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leon Helton, Troy O'Daniel, J. B. Wiley, Glen Haney, Grady Simmons and Ed Moore. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Waxahachie.

Memorials may be made to the Ellis County Veterans Memorial.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
