Eunice Melland

Eunice Melland, 92 of Waxahachie, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at her residence in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Charlie and Hester Goodwin Kitchens on February 26, 1923 in Peoria, Texas. Eunice loved to attend church at South Prong Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and going fishing. Eunice loved her family and spending time with them. She will be greatly missed and continually loved. She is survived her daughter, Brenda Hogan and her husband, Charles of Waxahachie; her son, John Rutherford of Waxahachie; by her grandchildren, Mark Rutherford and John Rutherford; and by her 4 great grandchildren. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Melland; her brothers, Mack Kitchens, R. D. Kitchens and Jay Kitchens; sisters, Amanda Tadlock, Lee Street, Margie Ivey and Pearl Walker. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Gilchrist officiating.
