Esther Ida Schwausch of Waxahachie, Texas died Wednesday. She was one of nine children born in Manheim, TX. to Ernest and Marie (Pillack) Richter. Esther was raised in the Manheim community, and later married Gus Schwausch. They resided in Copperas Cove, TX. until her move to Waxahachie in September, 1990. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Copperas Cove and an associate member of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Waxahachie.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Thompson and husband Leonard of Waxahachie, TX. and three grandchildren, Becky Wilson and husband Randy Wilson, Gary Thompson and wife, Lucy Thompson, of Waxahachie, Kelly Greer and husband, Rusty Greer of Italy, Texas, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Hattie Gerlach of Manheim, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gus Schwausch, four brothers, Karl, Oswald, Edward and Oskar Richter, twin sister, Lina Koslan, and sisters, Hulda Schwausch and Frieda Unger.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5-6:30 PM Friday at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. The Celebration of Life will be 1 PM Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
