Emily Hays Everett (March 20, 1949 - August 2, 2013) Survived by daughters Dr. Beverly J. Everett of Bismarck ND/Bemidji MN, Kristen Everett Waidler and son-in-law David Waidler, granddaughters Maggie and Esmé Waidler of Dallas, TX, Rebecca and Mike Mangan , Abby and Joey Mangan of Annandale, VA , sister Carla Hays Jones-Batka and Bill Batka of Alexandria, VA, brother Thomas Hays and Suzanne Hays of Waxahachie, niece and nephews Hope Hays Zettler, Alan Hays, Justin Jones and Jason Jones. Predeceased by parents Finis C. and Ruth Hays, aunt Ruby Parks, nephew Tommy Hays, brother-in-law Bill Jones and sister-in-law Linda Hays. A Waxahachie native, Emily attended Waxahachie High School and Baylor University. Her career included a long-time position with GMAC and an executive position with the Chorister's Guild. Emily was a member of First Baptist Church of Waxahachie for over 50 years. An active member and leader in the church's music ministry, Emily was a member of both the Sanctuary Choir and the handbell choir, director of the children's choir, and Sunday School teacher. In 2011 she participated in a music mission trip to Guatemala. Emily's most important and loved role was that of "Amia" to her granddaughters. Beloved by her family and friends, she is remembered for her sweet, generous and vibrant spirit, and for her strength and bravery with which she inspired so many. Funeral arrangements directed by Wayne Boze Funeral Home of Waxahachie; Visitation Monday August 5, 6-8pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home; Funeral service Tuesday August 6, 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Waxahachie. Memorials may be given to the Be the Match Foundation.
