Eloise Kelly

Eloise V. Kelly, born April 9, 1919 in Olathe, Kansas to the late Bessie H. (White) and Fred M. Lewis, went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Kelly, of 52 years in 1992, a daughter, Sharon (Kelly) London and four grandchildren. Eloise is survived by four sons and their wives, Douglas and Judy, of Grand Prairie; Robert (Bob) and Tammy of Decatur, Gary and Connie, also of Grand Prairie; and Dan and Judy of Waxahachie. She is also survived by three sisters, Ruth Holthouse of Lenexa Kansas; Loraine Schulz and husband Robert of Russell, Kansas; and Pat Johnson and husband Robert of Inverness, Florida; and a brother, Bob Lewis and wife Shirley of Georgia. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Eloise grew up on a small farm and graduated from Olathe High School in 1937. She later attended Kansas State University. She was a Dietician in industrial feeding retiring in 1978 after more than 30 years. After retirement she and her husband, Paul, relocated from Grand Prairie to Waxahachie. They were active for many years in South Prong Baptist Church where Eloise served as Church Treasurer and Paul was a deacon. Eloise enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. For several years she maintained a collection of over 100 African Violets. But most of all she loved her family and devoted herself to their care. She seldom missed an opportunity to sit with them or, better yet, to cook for them. Eloise was a loving wife, mother and sister. She will be greatly missed. The Memorial Service will be conducted at 10:00am, Saturday, December 10, in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
