Elmer Wade McClanahan April 25, 1934 May 15, 2011 Elmer Wade McClanahan, 78 of Red Oak, Texas passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 in Red Oak. He was born April 25, 1934 in Littlefield, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil H. McClanahan . He served in the U. S. Army Infantry during the Korean Conflict, was a life member of the VFW, life member of the Cattlemans Association, longtime member of the NRA , member of the Teamsters Union 913 and in 1968 he was appointed as a U.S. Deputy Marshall. He will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him and loved him. He is survived by by 4 sons: Richard & Jill McClanahan of Red Oak, Randy Rich of Red Oak, Tx.; Randy Dean Smith of Red Oak, Texas and Rocky Smith of Paduka, Texas; 1 Daughter: Belinda Kay Kitchens of Red Oak, Texas 15 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grand-Grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou; 1 Daughter: Elizabeth Ruth McClanahan; 1 Brother: Earl McClanahan; Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Harvey McClanahan officiating. Interment will follow at Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
