Elma Lee Christopher, 81 of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009 in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Joseph and Mary Davis Bowen on February 13, 1928 in Rufe, Oklahoma.
Elma loved her family and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She was very generous, loving and would help anyone. She enjoyed and loved her church and her church family. She will be missed by so many who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, John Christopher and his wife, Patricia of Waxahachie, David Christopher of Waxahachie; her sister, Lola Cowling and her husband, Robert of Sulphur Springs; her brother, Shorty Bowen and his wife, Vera of Rufe, OK; She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Renee Follis and husband, Brad, Greg Christopher, Charlotte Christopher, Jason Christopher and fiancee, Amy, Alicia Ponivas and husband, Walter; 4 great grandchildren, Brittany Christopher, Gunnar Ponivas, Raygan Follis, Kenlee Ponivas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Marshall Christopher, her daughter-in-Law, Susie Christopher; and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
