Eleanor J. Marshall, age 86

Eleanor J. Marshall went to be with her Lord on Monday October 2, 2006. Eleanor was born on May 3, 1920 to Reverend Oscar E. and Mary Frances (Bell) Krenz in Walla Walla, Washington. She grew up in the Pittsburgh, PA. area, graduating from high school and continuing her education at Muskingham College in New Concord, Ohio, where she graduated with honors.
Eleanor married Robert G. Marshall in Newark, Ohio on June 14, 1946. They had five children: Diana, Janet, Jeannette, Paul, and Linda. They transferred to Waxahachie, Texas in 1963 with Owens Corning Fiberglas. Eleanor was a housewife and also worked at J.C. Penney in Waxahachie for several years. Eleanor has been an active member in the Garden Club where she was honored as the Outstanding Club Woman in 1996. She was also a member of the Century Club and Bird Watcher Club, holding numerous offices in the Garden and Century Club.
Eleanor was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and served on various committees most recently as the membership secretary and volunteer in the church office. Eleanor loved music and was a member of the Choir, Bell Ringers and Joy Singers for many years. Eleanor loved gardening, sewing, knitting, and crafts and was very creative in whatever she made. She and Robert enjoyed traveling and birdwatching.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband; two children; her parents, two brothers and one sister. Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her daughters, Diana Matlock and husband Byron; Linda Maddox and husband Marion; son, Paul Marshall and wife Diane; four grandchildren: Claire Griggs and husband Larry, Addie Baker and husband Jared, Nathan Matlock, Zachary Marshall; two great grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Richard Parr; nephews, Bill and Doug Parr and their families; and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends and relatives 5-7 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
The Celebration of her Life will be 10 AM Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church, Waxahachie with interment following in Hillcrest Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Jared Baker, Ron Bowler, Neale Freeto, Zachary Marshall, Nathan Matlock, and T. K. Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Fidelis Class.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church New Organ Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
