Elaine Smith

Elaine Carolyn Smith, 62 of Ennis, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 12, 1955, in Dallas to Pete and Victoria Garcia.

Elaine graduated from Ferris High School and earned her BBA from North Texas State University. She loved traveling and gardening, art galleries, sailing, her dogs Coco and Diane. Elaine lovingly assumed the responsibility for the care of her parents and father-in-law John Quincy Smith prior to their death.

Elaine is survived by the love-of-her life and her husband of 42 years, Gary Smith, originally of Ennis. She has five brothers, LeRoy Garcia (Linda) of San Antonio, Kenneth Garcia (Lucinda) of Carrollton, Pete Garcia (Lisa) of Waxahachie, Joe Garcia (Kim) of Waxahachie, John Garcia (Kathy) of Waxahachie, and two sisters, Nancy Winslow of Grapevine, Mary Ann Saur (Martin) of Igersheim, Germany. She is preceded in death by her sister Linda Brock of Quinlan.

Elaine was the beloved aunt to 6 nephews and 10 nieces. A proud Texan, she will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
