Mrs. Watkins passed away Tuesday in Sarasota, FL. She was born in Mooresville, KY, the daughter of Lloyd and Angie (Parrish) Yates. She grew up in Maude, KY. and attended St. Catherine Junior College in Kentucky, and Texas Wesleyan College. She married Milton M. Watkins February 19, 1946 in Louisville, KY. They were married 51 years, before he preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Watkins taught school for 26 years, 20 of which were at Northside Elementary in Waxahachie, Texas. She had lived in Waxahachie since 1951.
She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie and Fidelis Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by: daughter, Sheila W Ramirez of Bradenton, Florida;
son, Larry D. Watkins and wife, Karen J. of Grapevine, TX.; grandchildren, Nelle Watkins of Dallas, Cody Ramirez of Phoenix, AZ., Kirby Ramirez of Tempe, AZ., Cullen Watkins and Russell Watkins, both of Grapevine; sister, Sterling Johnson of Owensboro, KY. and half-sister, Beatrice Hinsch of Indianapolis, IN.. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and also her husband Milton.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will be 10 AM Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church with interment following at Waxahachie City.
