Edward "Leon" Thompson, 83, of Midlothian, Texas passed away peacefully on August 16, 2018 at his home.
Edward Leon Thompson was born on April 12, 1935 in Fannin County Texas. He graduated from college in 1956. Served in the US Army from 1958-1959 where he was deployed to Germany. He was a faithful and devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Midlothian. He had a love for baseball and coached BBI young men's baseball teams in Duncanville, Texas and played semi-pro baseball in 1955. Edward Leon had a tremendous work ethic and worked for LTV Aircraft in Grand Prairie as a material expeditor.
Edward Leon is survived by his beloved wife Velma Hall Thompson of 56 years; daughters Lorie and Karee; grandchildren Philip, Don, Chris, Caleb, Jessica, and son-in-law Steven and daughter-in-law Michelle.
Leon was preceded in death by his son Adam, parents Cecil and Wilda Thompson, a sister Jo Ann Thompson, and brother Donald Mac Thompson.
There will be a visitation with the family Friday August 24, 2018 from 6-8 pm at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W Hwy 287 Business in Waxahachie.
A celebration of Edward Leon Thompson's life will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 am, held at Mount Zion Cemetery located at 3211 Mount Zion Road, Midlothian, Texas 76065.
The family request in lieu of flowers, please donate to your local little league baseball team in memory of Leon Thompson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Hwy 287 Business Waxahachie, Texas.
