Edward Max Graham, age 85
October 10, 1919
July 24, 2005

Mr. Graham passed away Sunday at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie. Max was born in Waxahachie, TX. to Lottie Blanche (Maxon) and John Bert Graham. He was educated in the Waxahachie schools and graduated from Trinity University in 1941 with a BS degree in chemistry and minor in mathematics.
On August 6, 1942 he married Dorothy Bayless.
At the outbreak of WWII he was a flight instructor of Army Primary cadets training for duty in the Air Corp. He served in WWII in the China-Burma-India Theatre in the Air Transport Command flying supplies from India into China for American troops. He was honorably discharged in 1945 with several service medals.
Max was a Sales Engineer for the Murray Company of Dallas and later became associated with The Vought Corporation in Missles and Space, and the Aircraft division.
He was an Elder in Central Presbyterian Church of Waxahachie, former president of the Waxahachie Rotary Club, having attained fifty six years of perfect attendance; a Paul Harris Fellow; a member of the Dallas Rotary Chorus; a school board member of Notre Dame Schools of Dallas; Waxahachie Planning and Zoning Commission; City Councilman; and Mayor of the City of Waxahachie; a charter member of the Antique Automobile Club of North Texas, serving as President and other offices; a charter member of the Classic Car Club of North Texas, serving on the board of managers; a Trinity University alumnus and former member of the National Alumni Board of Trinity.
Mr. Graham is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Dorothy, and son Robert of Manchaca, TX.; a niece Emily Graham Rodriguez of Raeford, NC; a brother-in-law George C. Bayless of Lake City, FL., and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Bert Graham, Jr.
The family will receive friends and relatives 5-7 PM Wednesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Graveside services for family and friends will be held Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 10 AM at the Hillcrest Burial Park, Waxahachie. A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Graham's life will be 11 AM Thursday at Central Presbyterian Church with Reverend Vic Dindot officiating.
