Edna Pauline Rittenhouse, 81 of Red Oak, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Baylor Medical Center Hospital in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Levi Frederick & Viola May Simpson Gustin on July 26, 1927 in Sparks, Kansas.
Edna loved to travel and work in her garden. She enjoyed sewing and working crochet. She loved to cook for her family and spend time with them. She was very active and a member of the Waxahachie Seventh Day Adventist English Church, where she served as a Deaconist for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family, her church family and many friends.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley Eugene & Linda Rittenhouse of St. Augustine, FL.., Frederick Lee & Vicki Rittenhouse of Burleson; her daughter, Anita Rittenhouse & Michael Manies of Red Oak; her twin sister, Eloise Pendleton of Livermore, CA; 3 grandchildren, Garret Edward Rittenhouse of Vermont, Wendi Ann Rittenhouse of Owasso, OK; Airman First Class, Airmi Ruth Jones of Mountain Home, Idaho; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Dale Rittenhouse; 4 brothers and 1 sister.
A visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Boze Family Red Oak Funeral Home in Red Oak, Texas
A visitation will also be held in Highland, Kansas Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Highland Cemetery, Highland, Kansas under the direction of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Waxahachie Seventh Day Adventist English Church Building Fund.
