Edith Hamby

Edith Pauline Hamby, 88 of Waxahachie , Texas and formerly of Guymon , Oklahoma passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 in Waxahachie , Texas . She was born to the late John A. & Minnie Ritchey Layman on June 01, 1923 in Elmsdale , Kansas . Edith was a longtime member of the Grace Southern Baptist Church in Guymon , Oklahoma where she taught Sunday School and worked with the Girls Auxiliary for many years. She traveled to Kenya and Africa several times to visit her Daughter on mission trips. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her and loved her. She is survived by her Daughter & Son in law: Johnene and Paul Ross of Waxahachie , Texas . 1 Brother: Delmer Layman of Oregon ; 1 Daughter in law: Margie Hamby of Jacksboro , Texas and 5 Grandchildren: Staci Medina, Renae Russell and Brandon, Bryce and Beau Hamby; 10 Great Grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years States Wilson Hamby and 1 Son: Marvin Hamby. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled in Waxahachie for 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Lemon officiating. Services in Guymon , Oklahoma are scheduled for Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Graveside at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon , Oklahoma . Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 PM Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Bunch Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon , Oklahoma . Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie and Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon , Oklahoma
