William (Bill) Harry Lindsey peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Austin, Texas. He was 98 years old. Bill was born on July 24, 1919, in Hamburg, Arkansas, where he spent his youth and teen years until joining the Army Air Corps in 1939. He was assigned to the Ferry Command at the end of his basic training and flew airplanes all over the world during World War II, including 50 missions over the Himalayas (also known as "The Hump").

After the war, Bill attended The University of Arkansas earning his Bachelor of Arts in Zoology. He then attended The University of Arkansas School of Medicine, graduating in 1951. Prior to coming to Waxahachie in 1963, he had other private practice opportunities and obtained additional training in Internal Medicine. Dr. Lindsey practiced medicine in Waxahachie until 1985 upon his retirement.

Bill met his wife, Bettye Lorraine Fuller, in 1941 in the Sunday School class of the First Presbyterian Church in San Angelo, Texas, while he was in flying school at Goodfellow AFB. They married in Long Beach, California, on January 19, 1942, and were married 72 years before Bettye's passing in 2014. They had moved to Austin, Texas, in 2005 to be closer to many family members.
