She supported her husband's profession through the Alliance of the Texas Dental Association, serving as President in 1987-1988. She was an active member of the PTA, Vocational Advisory Board for Waxahachie ISD, Friday Book Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
As an avid reader and lover of literature, Dee had the ability to recite long passages of scripture and poetry for entertainment and instruction. She loved hosting parties in her home and was always able to connect personally with each one in attendance. As Dee Dee to 13 Grandchildren and 22 Great-grandchildren, she will be greatly missed.
