Douglas Wayne Medlock, 77 of Waxahachie, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 at his residence in Waxahachie. He was born to the late Hoyt and Edna Couch Medlock in Rockett, Texas.
Douglas never met a stranger and loved people. He could never go anywhere without stopping and visiting with either someone he knew or to make a new friend. Douglas loved to work in the yard and he loved his church and church family at Harvest Baptist Church. He retired from Bell Helicopter in Grand Prairie after 20 years and also worked at Larkin Packing in Waxahachie. He will be missed and continually loved by so many who will never forget him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Christine Medlock of Waxahachie; his son, Jon "Buzz" Medlock and his wife, Mary Jane of Waxahachie; his sister, Billie Ruth Mokszycki of Grand Prairie; he is also survived by 5 grandchildren and by 5 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his 2 sons, Hoyt Sidney Medlock, and Wayne Medlock; his parents; his 2 brothers, Hoyt Medlock, Jr. and Conrad Medlock; and by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Those officiating the service will be Rev. Paul Shearin and Rev. Lee Payne, founding Pastor of Harvest Baptist church. Interment will follow at the Forreston Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
