Dorothy Wilkerson

September 17, 1936 — November 22, 2017

Dorothy Sherman Wilkerson 81, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in Dallas,
Texas.

A Dallas ISD teacher, counselor and do gooder, Dottie lived most of her adult life in Ellis county where she was an active member of the Ellis County Democratic Party. She lived in faith, compassion and love for all but especially for her daughter, Krysten Sherman Estell, and her beloved grandsons, Stanley Estell and Eric Estell.

She was an example of daring greatly. She had a wonderful sense of adventure and chose every day to live happily. She was so positive and always had some words to motivate. "Keep on steppin' or You go girl" were two of her favorites.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Frank Edward and Martha Redman Bostert. She was born September 17, 1936 in Bristol Connecticut and earned her degree from the University of Connecticut. She lived in New York City before moving to Texas. Dorothy is survived by her fabulous daughter Krysten Estell, two incredible grandsons, Stanley Estell and Eric Estell; two beautiful sisters Betsy Manning-Gayle of Harrisburg, North Carolina and Elaine Ouimet of Bristol Connecticut; two handsome brothers in law Joe Gayle and Vincent Ouimet; two amazing grand nieces, Jenifer Davila and Danielle Ouimet. Dorothy is also survived by a host of wonderful friends who loved her and whom she loved very much. She loved her family, friends and her fur babies, Coco and Suzy. She will live on in our memories, and we will remember her example of making the choice to be happy.

A memorial service to celebrate Dottie's life will be held December 16, 2017 at St. Matthew Cathedral in Dallas, TX at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to scholarship fund for Dottie's grandchildren to :
