Dorothy Faye Sewell, 88 of Midlothian, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at Parkland Hospital. She was born to the late Dallas H. and Exa Mae Bailey Duke on September 27, 1920 in Pittsburg, Texas.
Dorothy loved to travel. She enjoyed taking trips to Branson and Canada among other places. She took pride in being a wife and homemaker raising their three sons. Her great delight were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her passion was taking care of her family which she loved to do. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Midlothian for more than 60 years and she loved her sunday school class and church family. She will be missed by those who knew her and loved her. A special thank you to the staff at Covenant Place of Waxahachie for the care they gave Dorothy the past several years.
She is survived by her sons, Gary W. Sewell and his wife, Carol of Waxahachie, David M. Sewell of Land-O-Lakes, FL, Stephen O. Sewell and his wife, Barbara of Chesterfield, MO; she is also survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Wiggins and husband, Bret, Linsley Grant and husband, Cameron, Christopher Sewell, Kevin Sewell and wife, Michelle, and Stephen Soderquist; her great grandchildren, Jordan and Gabrielle Lall, Hayden and Addison Grant, and Blake and Dylan Sewell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferman Ozell Sewell; 2 sisters, Irene M. Mallon, Nadine Jones; and 3 brothers, William T. Duke, John H. Duke, and Claude M. Duke.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, Midlothian, with Dr. Bruce Prindle and Dr. Rick Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Midlothian Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
