Dorothy May Rippey, age 82

Mrs. Rippey passed away Friday evening at her daughters residence in Midlothian. Mrs. Rippey was born in Bowie, Texas to James R. and Minnie Lee (Willig) Mercer. She moved to the Waxahachie Area at early age. She had been employed with LTV for over 25 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Ferris Ave. Baptist Church and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to travel, Switzerland being one of her last trips. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and going to their activities. She was a big fan of gospel music and local talent.She is survived by: 2 daughters; Karen Green and her husband Harry of Midlothian, Carole Bradley of Waxahachie, one sister Lois Autrey of Waxahachie, one brother Henry Mercer and his wife Alice of Boyce, 4 grandchildren; Robin Butler and her husband Kyle, Lin Bradley, Joe Green and his wife Lori, and Scott Green and his wife Kalla. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter Cathy Lynn Rippey, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 24, 2007 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Larry Burks (her Deacon) officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Lin Bradley, Harry Green, Joe Green, Scott Green, Kyle Butler, and Don Timm. The Family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association or The VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
