Dorothy Midkiff

Waxahachie -- Dorothy Louise Midkiff, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, at the age of 87. Dorothy was born on September 23, 1929 in Gunter to parents Charles Walter Davenport and Lillie Eunice Wilson. She graduated from Tioga High School in 1947 and married the love of her life, Billy John Midkiff, on March 8, 1948 in Sherman. After starting a family, Dorothy began a career with Chance Vought in 1956; later retiring from Ling Temco Vought in 1986. Bill and Dorothy were happily married for 55 years before his death. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Charles (Bud) and Lillie Davenport. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors: Sons, Bill Midkiff and wife, Leslea, of Forreston and Terry Midkiff and wife, Debbie, of Arlington; Brother, Don Davenport of Collinsville; Six Grandchildren: Jason Midkiff and wife, Crystal, of Waxahachie, Gretchen Midkiff of Plano, Shane Midkiff of Waxahachie, Preston Husted of Arlington, Tracey Midkiff of Plano and Patrick Husted and wife, Brittany, of Dallas; Three Great-Granddaughters: Emma, Carson and Gracelyn; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation with the family is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation with the family at the Collinsville Church of Christ from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Funeral Service will follow at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at the Collinsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the American Cancer Society.
